After 2 years of slow traveling across Asia and South America, we finally nailed down the perfect nomad setup for living and working remotely.
Spoiler: We made A LOT of mistakes at first. 😅
Why we love it: Lightweight (1.2kg), insane battery life (15h+), and powerful enough for basic video editing.
What we didn’t expect: Get a USB-C to HDMI cable. Airbnb apartments often have monitors - game changer for work.
We shoot 90% of our content with it. Video stabilization is crazy good, even while walking.
Must-have accessory: A MagSafe grip. Seriously. Almost dropped the phone 3 times filming waterfalls.
For activities (kayaking, hiking, diving). More robust than GoPro in our experience.
Budget hack: Buy spare batteries on AliExpress, not from DJI. Saved us 60%.
Honestly… we use it less than expected. Cool for 360° timelapses, but heavy to edit.
We travel ultra light: 1 backpack each (40L), that’s it.
Our bag: Osprey Farpoint 40
Fits as carry-on everywhere, comfortable even with 10kg, front-loading = life.
Internal organization:
❌ Laptop AND tablet (redundant)
❌ DSLR camera (too heavy, smartphone is enough)
❌ More than 3 t-shirts (we wash weekly)
❌ Paper books (Kindle only)
❌ Hair dryer (apartments always have one)
