The good tip: Skip Canggu if you’re not a surfer. It’s become super touristy and expensive. Ubud stays authentic.

Warung Biah Biah (Ubud) Nasi campur for 25k IDR (~€1.50). The best value on the island.

Sage (Ubud) For a healthy brunch after a week of nasi goreng. Pricey for Bali (€10) but worth it.

Ubud Night Market Local street food every night. We went 3-4 times a week.

Internet: 100mbps fiber for €20/month. Perfect for remote work.

Local SIM: Telkomsel, €15/month for unlimited data.

Transport: Scooter is a MUST. Grab Bike for lazy days (€1-2 a ride).

❌ Denpasar traffic (hell) ❌ Monsoon rain in November (soaked every other day) ❌ The Monkey Forest monkeys that stole our sunglasses ❌ The classic scam: “temple closed today, I’ll take you somewhere else” (FALSE, always)

Best period: April to October (dry season)

Recommended length: Minimum 3 weeks to really enjoy it

Daily budget: €20-30/person if living local, €50-70 for more comfort

Visa: 30 days free on arrival, extendable once locally
