👋 Hey, we’re Steph & Romain

🌍 Our Story
We’re a French couple who said screw it to the 9-to-5 routine in 2018.
The initial plan: Go to Australia on a Working Holiday Visa for 1 year, explore the world, then return to France like good little citizens.
Reality: We stayed 7 years. And we still haven’t gone back to France. 😅
🎒 Our Philosophy: Slow Travel
We’re NOT typical backpackers.
You’ll never see us:
- ❌ Changing cities every 2 days
- ❌ Ticking off “Top 10 Things to Do” lists
- ❌ Eating at restaurants for every meal
- ❌ Pretending everything’s perfect on Instagram
What we actually do:
- ✅ Stay 1-2 months per city
- ✅ Rent apartments (not hotels)
- ✅ Cook, shop at local markets
- ✅ Work remotely (we’re not trust fund babies)
- ✅ Share the real struggles and actual budgets
Basically: we live normally, just… elsewhere.
💼 How We Finance All This
Because that’s THE question everyone asks. 😄
Romain: [Your job - e.g., Freelance dev, consultant, etc.]
Steph: [Her job - to fill]
We work remotely 20-30h/week. It leaves time to explore, but we’re not on permanent vacation.
Average monthly budget (both of us): €1500-2000 depending on the country
(Rent, food, transport, activities, insurance… EVERYTHING included)
🗺️ Our Journey
2017-2025: Australia 🇦🇺
8 years of Aussie life. Sydney, Melbourne, Perth… We did everything: waiter, sales, office jobs, freelancing.
Key takeaway: Australia taught us to live differently. Less stress, more nature, better work-life balance.
2023: Back to Asia 🌏
Bali, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines. Rediscovering Asia with a different perspective (and a better budget than at 20).
2024-2025: South America 🌎
Our current adventure. Argentina, Paraguay, Peru… And the journey continues in Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia.
2026+: Back to Asia?
We’re thinking of returning to Asia (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan…) but nothing’s set. That’s the beauty of it.
