A memorable stop on our current South American adventure.

Salta, in Argentina’s Northwest, is a complete contrast to Buenos Aires: desert landscapes, colorful mountains, and a local gastronomy (the empanadas salteñas especially) we never got tired of trying.

A region less crowded with tourists than Patagonia, but definitely worth the detour.
